2014 Year In Review

New years resolutions I accomplished in 2014:

  • ride a horse
  • do more yoga
  • get a new camera
  • throw dinner parties
  • shoot a music video
  • redo my website
  • survive as a freelance photographer
  • drink more hot tea
  • give more freely
  • get a tattoo
  • work harder
  • custom USB drives
  • learn to let things go
  • more DIY projects
  • gain muscle
  • create things for myself

Thanks for being around and making all of this possible.

"I want to go on adventures, I think." for Fantastics Magazine

What started off as a Pinterest find of vintage scientific illustrations grew into a Wes Anderson/retro/travel story with the dreamiest of dream teams. Set stylist Jordan Patterson curated such a fun set of props from her own finds and Jack Wucher's weird/awesome thrift store collections. This was my first shoot with the lovely ladies of The Spin Style Agency and we've already got more things in the works!

PS: If you haven't checked out my Tumblr before (probably because it's still new), you might find some outtakes from this shoot over there!

VOL by Julie Thomas Lookbook

One of my favorite projects this year is the lookbook I shot for Julie Thomas's senior collection. She's an amazingly funny and wickedly talented designer whose work ethic and skills are now blessing the design team at Anna Sui. She teamed up with fellow SCAD alumni Kendall Henderson for her branding and art direction to put together the full package for the collection, and I was beyond thrilled to be asked to execute the vision they had. We drove out into the middle of nowhere to a 200-year-old church where our poor models sweated into body suits and wool garments. This will probably also be the only time I stand on top of a church pulpit.

Fake Flowers promo shoots

Working with these boys has been my favorite ongoing creative partnership. They've always got new ideas for me to play with and they're great to hang out with. They're finishing up their second album right now, and I can't wait to show off the artwork we created for it. In the meantime, check out some of the shoots we've done so far and check out their album Opaque Pop on bandcamp, iTunes, and Spotify. Website // Facebook
